In DR Congo, severe acute malnutrition in children is both a primary and a secondary cause of death. Malnutrition Centers in Karawa and Loko are working to prevent, reduce, and treat severe malnutrition in children. Your gift will help our partners train health workers, order more food, purchase needed equipment and supplies, and work with the community on prevention.

After two years of persistently high mortality rates of 18–20% for complicated severe acute malnutrition cases, the Karawa Malnutrition Center successfully reduced the rate to 7% in 2024.
